Department of Chemistry

           The Department of Chemistry established in the year 2003 as a complementary department and upgraded to undergraduate level in the year 2013. It was subsequently upgraded to a postgraduate department in 2016. In addition to the regular B.Sc. and M.Sc. programmes, the department also offers some certificate courses relevant to the discipline for skill development and to enhance employability, during each academic year.

           The department currently has seven faculty members. They are actively involved in providing quality education through practical and research environment. Also the department has collaboration with various reputed research institutions.

  • To develop the department as a centre of excellence in all aspects of education, research and public outreach in the area of chemistry.
Mission:
  • Provide knowledge in the fundamental aspects of all branches of chemistry
  • Foster the scientific and innovative research skills among students.
  • Train the students in various quantitative and qualitative analysis by learning the potential uses of analytical, industrial, medicinal and green chemistry.
  • Address the most pressing chemical challenges and opportunities in our society.
